spark
so, i bought my ram (1995 1500 318cid 4wd 5spd) the no start...
i pulled a plug, the number 3 i think, and hooked it back up outside of the cylinder and had my dad turn the key and guess what, no spark!! as i recall i think it should be strong enough to hear an audiable popping sound when it sparks? also, it was dark out and i disconnected my underhood trouble lamp, and i didnt see any blue electricity flying.
so this is my question, at almost 250k should i start at the coil, or at the distrubutor to see if it still turns of if i junked a roll pin down there? and where is the coil on these things anyway? i mean, i havent looked yet, but that distributor doesnt look like any picnic to get at, so im sure the coil isnt much better. or is there some fuse or relay that will control the ignition system?
thanks for any help

a buddy of mine had the same problem on his 96' 5spd 318cid..he thought it was the coil, but it ended up being the crank sensor not allowing any fire I believe. the coil is mounted below the alternator on the passenger side of the vehicle near the front. very easy to get at. good luck.
