My 98 ram 1500, 5.2L needs all new tie rods. Can I switch to a HD T style steering without modification? I drive down a lot of logging roads during hunting season and get fire wood so an upgrade to a “beefer” system would be great. Just wondering if it’s bolt up basically. Most articles about this are mostly taking about diesel model.

 

Yes, it will bolt right up. 1998-99 HD OEM parts are what you want. I did it using Moog but AC Delco will have the better bushing end as I had to make my own bushings.

It all bolts right up and it's much easier to align.
