Default Trans Shift and plenum question

My truck ****s hard when going into reverse, in the mourning it shifts ok but when you get it up to temp is where you really notice it is it normal for these transmissions to do this or do I need to have it looked at? My other question is how do you check to see if the plenum gasket is bad?

Auto or Manual Trans? Guessing auto, mine has never done that. Whens the last time you had the fluid and filter changed? Also hpw many miles are on it? And do you beat the crap out of it? Plow with it?

To check the plenum take off your air cleaner nad look down the TB. If theres pools of oil your plenum is bad [&:] If theres just a little coating the bottom thats normal.

its always good to go through the all the fluids in the truck after you get it or atleast soon after... you never know what kind of fluids the dealers put in..if it was a dodge dealer..they usually use decent mopar stuff... if it was a 3rd party or independent dealer then thats a different story... also replacing all the the fluids gives you a good starting point with the truck to help keep up good maintenance habits...getting a cycle ... i thought my tranny was goin out on me and thought it needed rebuild and after checkin the fluid it looked fine to me aswell.. i put in a new filter and fluid and made a little bit a difference...untill i toook it to a good shop that they hooked up the machine with the detergent in it and sucked the tranny dry... then it improved ALOT...think about getting that done... the tech even showed me the fluid that came out and it was filled with little metal shavings and after settling for an hour the little glass and nice bright red fluid at the top and darker sludge kind of sedement at the bottom...kinda scary... give it a thought
