Default Exhaust options

This has probably been asked before, but... I want to get an exhaust system, Flowmaster 40 series delta, 3" in and dual 21/4" out. My question is what is the cheapest way of going about buying a whole system, i was thinking turndowns after the muffler but i do not know if they are legal here in MA, i would like dual out the back but want to get it welded by, probably Mineike (right down the street) and i am on a budget (christmas money). So what is the cheapest way of going about this, buy everything from the shop and have them weld it on or buy the stuff myself and have them weld it on, and how much do you think it will cost???

THANKS

Default RE: Exhaust options

ruff estamate... i spent 150 on my first exhaust... off ebay.. completley UNHAPPY with it... not a good fit... pipes didnt fit right... the muffler shop i took it to to weld it .. apperently didnt know how to weld... with that said... dont get nervous.. ask around your area and find out the quality of work some shops do .. it will be worth your time and worth your money in the long run... the second exhaust system i had on the ram .. fell off... and that was bent and peiced on by a muffler chain up here... so.. had to take matters in my own hand... and i put headers highflow cat and a custom exhuast on myself... i learned myself how to weld... (witch is what im doing for living for now b/c i find it VERY satisfing) i started to bend my own stock piping and the bends werent what i wanted so i took the pipes to a buddy that was a manager at a muff shop and he let ME use the bender and mandrel bent them myself.. with that long boring story out of the way...remember one thing that i leanred my dumbass self along time ago was you pay for what you get... 9 out 10 times... ive heard good things about the summit brand prebent prefitted systems... and remember you can clamp everything together now..and then take it to a welding shop or a performance shop later down the road and get everything welded.. clamps do suck..but sometimes you can get them to stop leaking... its harder with the larger piping that it is with the smaller... the sizing you got in mind is PERFECT!!! stick to that... thatll give you best of all around gains.. with mpg tq and hp..

this is what mine looks like...and no stealing my idea!!! just kidding..my spare tire carrier under the bed doesnt crank anymore so you can see why i did this...
