I need some help and advice.
I have a 2001 Ram 1500 4x4 Off Road, I LOVE THIS TRUCK!

Its pulls my (3) boats and I'm very happty with the way it looks, and drives well

I just replaced the Transmission after 194K mi. and now I'm looking to install a fresh 5.9 Magnum, the one I have runs, but its tired.

I want to use the truck for long distance towing, but I would like to "enhance" the new engine to make life easier on it. (double -row timing chain, headers, better exhausts, Oil cooler, etc. etc.)

I used to be able to find stock 5.9 Mopar crate motors forever, but they seem to be all gone now. Its looks like my choices are only "ATK" or "VEGES" rebuilt motors.

Can anybody recommend where I could find a good replacement engine? I'd like OEM 5.9 Magnum Crate motor, but I can't find any.

Get one from a Junkyard. Forced induction is the best bang for your buck and in most cases helps with mpg

 

Jasper, Hughes, Summit, Powertrain, Autozone, S&J, Moparpro, Performance Unlimited, etc, etc, etc,.

Do you even google?

 

Look for a short block. Maybe even try a Dodge dealer, sometimes they have a good deal. Then buy an RV or towing cam and a set of EQ heads, and some shorty headers.
