Default 5spd to 6spd transmission swap

Aside from costs and disassembly what is involved with a 5 spd to 6 spd transmission swap, have a 2001 Ram 2500, Cummins 24v, needing a new clutch soon and am curious what is interchangeable.

Swapping New Venture transmissions should work just fine since they both were used on the 24V and early CR. If going with the Getrag you may need an adapter plate at a minimum.

The NV4500 has a 1 1/4" input shaft unless someone swapped it out for an 1 3/8". The NV5600 has a 1 3/8" input, so the clutches won't interchange unless you get one for a 1 3/8" input.
