Torque question regarding throttle body
I am getting ready to replace my stock tb w/a fastman for my 5.9. The instructions say to be careful and not over tighten the bolts on the tb as the aluminum intake is easy to "f" up.
I don't own a torque wrench but would buy one if necessary to tighten the bolts on correctly. I have a Haynes Dodge Ram repair manual, but it does not mention the tb bolts. So I am wondering if anyone out there knows how tight the tb hold down bolts should be? I don't want to mess things up.
thanks

you dont necesarily (sp) need to buy one... id suggest to goto autozone..they have a tool loan program where you pay for the tool and use it and take it back and you get your deposit back... but it is ALWAYS a good investment on a tq wrench... i have 2 ft and 2 inch .. always a back up.. im a tq freek after being in the military working on fighter jets... unless the tq is a CRAZY value .. il always use a tq wrench... it comes down to the operation and function of bolts and how they actually work..the phsyics .. anyway. the tq specs for the tb bolts are
Throttle Body—Bolts 200
that is in INCH pounds...very important to know that..inch pounds..

the TB is one of those things I just tighten to what makes sense... and i've never had a problem with it leaking. just dont go crazy on it and you'll be fine.
you should have received some allen head bolts with it, get the right socket (3/8" drive) and slap it (the tb) on there. you can check it for leaks if you suspect it is leaking but i doubt you'll have a problem
