So i bought a 1998 ram 2500 v8 (gas) and all the vacuum lines except for the 4x4 are brittle and breaking. Air only comes through defrost vents, cruise control doesnt work and the light doesnt even come on, and 4x4 high doesnt work. I am currently using tubing to connect broken ends but that doesnt seem to be helping, I will get some heat shrink tomorrow and see if that does better. But my main question is about the 4x4. All the 4x4 related lines seem good and I can shift it into 4x4 Low and it works, but when putting it into 4x4 High the 4WD light comes on, but the front wheels dont move. Any help would be much appreciated!

 

How did you diagnose that there is no drive at the front axle?
