Default a warning about phoenix reman trans

Needed a valve body for a 46re. ordered a standard vb from phoenix reman trans. waited a week, no parts. I called them and was told"we haven't started rebuilding one for you yet. well get it done and shipped today." 3 days later no parts. called again, reponse was "we just started on it" that was the answer I recived after almost 3 (yes 3) hours on hold. I told them I didn't have time to waste anymore and needed to cancell the order. I was then told there would be 20% restock fee. I told them the parts never left there store and arn't even done yet so I wasn't paying a restock fee. So now I have wasted a week and a half and alot of time on the phone for nothing. I normally don't like to make posts like this but the poor service and lack of customer service provided by Phoenix reman trans has left me no other choice. I have gotten alot of good info from DF and wouldn't want anyone else to have to go through this if it can be helped.

Thanks for the info! Man don't worry, if the customer service sucks then it sucks and you have every right and privelage to tell anyone you want about it. Now let me get this straight though...YOU WAITED 3 HOURS ON HOLD? I would have been, very and I mean so very p.o'ed at those SOBS.

Wow that sucks.

I would have cancelled the order just for that.

Sorry to hear of your troubles

Cool!!! what did you get? (stock, modified etc) Definately post back, I'm interested since my tranny is stock and could use a shift kit/new valve body.

just ordered a stocker, nothing fancy. Got it stuck in this morning and all seems well[8D]. shifts nice and firm for a trans w/o shift kit. Not as solid as my old vb with the trans go but thats ok with me. I did turn up the pressure a bit and turned the shift gov up a couple of turns. Aps is a charm to deal with, much much better than those who this thread was post about in the first place. while i was in there I also change the accumulator springs to the stock ones from a 47re. A bit more apply pressure never hurts right? Steve if you do decide to go into your trans the trans go is the only way to go for a shift kit. If you go any further than that (rebuild) make sure you change to the 5 pinion planetarey for the od. Handles alot more load.

Thanks for the tips on the re-build... APS will be shipping me one of their mild build trannys. I'm also gonna put a good deep pan on there to add some fluid capacity.

Fortunately for me my tranny has held up to my abuse and I have no idea how many miles are on it. I think it was rebuilt before I bought it 2 years and 45k miles ago. I have serviced it 2x already and a flush will be due the next service. I might swap the valve body for one of aps's then and add the deep pan at the same time.
