Default Power steering box interchangeability

I have a 97 1500 4x4 ex cab. I have a 94 4x4 single cab parts truck (recent wrecked vehicle I bought for parts). My 97's steering box leaks like a sieve (in it's defense it does have over 280,000 miles on it) . The box on the parts truck is dry, and has an external cooler. The front tires don't have any goofy wear either, so everything looks to have been in top shape. Is this something I can just swap out, or are they incompatible?
