Default Coil pack wiggly wire p0351

Hey all

as some of you may know my coil pack bracket broke the other day and I had to fix it.

all was fine again until today it threw a p0351 code while idling. No misfire felt or anything out of the ordinary

but upon looking at my coil pack the top wire that leads to my distributor is extremely loose feeling is this normal?

ive included a video.

(ps i know the positive and negative wires shouldn’t be exposed like that and I am currently crimping new ends and doing them properly) the previous owner who installed it wasn’t exactly a mechanic...

should the top wire be this loose?

I don't think so. Maybe something broke when the coil was bouncing around.

Im inclined to think you are correct I just don’t have another one to test the proper amount of play. I can always just buy a new one it’s only like $50 but I’ll be annoyed if that’s not it.

i re crimped the wires and soldered them properly and cleared the code. Gonna run it for a few days and see if it happens again.

That red thing looks like an adapter, The stock coil has a male terminal where that coil is female. May need replacing.

Update time!

i found the manual for my coil pack (blaster 2)
you take off the coil wire boot and where the nipple is you turn it clockwise which expands the inside coil contact and makes it really snug it’s no longer loose at all.

just wanted to share
