Default tachometer

hey guys ive got a ram 2500 and its basically a base model because it has no power windows, lock, mirrors, seats but that is fine but the only problem is that it doesnt have a tachometer and i was just looking at a gauge on JCW and i was just wondering if the wires to hook it up were already by the dash or not

Default RE: tachometer

They may be, maybe not. I used to do stereo/alarm installs, and you would be surprised what wires you could find on even the most stripped down truck if you knew where to look. That being sai, it would probably be really difficult to separate the wires you would need out of the harness. Get a Haynes manual and study the wiring diagrams in the back, maybe you can catch the wires under the dash. Your better bet would likely be to catch the wires out by the distributor, and run the wires (from the aftermarket tach), back into the cab through one of the grommets in the firewall.
