hey everyone. Has anyone installed a hughes airgap? Is it worth the money ? Noticeable gains? Thinking of getting one eventually. I reached out to flyin Ryan and he said he can't get me a canned tune because of the aftermarket cam I have in it now. So I either need to do head work which I rather not or get a better intake to get a custom tune done. Is anyone running the air gaps ? I'm in Canada so its would cost me alot more to order one from the states just wanna make sure its money well spent

 

$402 plus shipping at Hughes, Another option would be to get better heads with the LA style ports. Then you can run any LA intake out there.

Not a lot of options for intakes for the magnums, depends on where your can builds power. In the middle to upper rpm range i am assuming. ???

Where are you seeing it for 400? I was on hughes website and it said 640. With the exchange that would cost me 850 prob closer to 1000 by time shipping is dealt with. So its kinda a big deal for me. I really wanna wake this truck up and tuner was the solution I thought

 

My bad, The one i looked up was for a carb but didn't have the injector ports. Well the only other alternative is the Mopar M1 if you can find one. Keep an eye on ebay for both and you may get a deal on one. An article you may find interesting...

Yep. Feels better over all but isn't super noticeable. It's nothing like when I swapped the gears from 3.55 to 4.10s. It's still a slug though.

 

With my air gap I had hoped for more power too. I did get rid of the keg/plenum plate and its issues and get a better running set up what with all the mods combined. Headers, TB, 1.7 rollers and the air gap. It was subtle but it did gain some power. And its such a better looking manifold. Sure would like to upgrade to higher flowing heads. Someday....
