sometimes the speedo, sometimes the tach on mine will b sittin at 0 til its fully warmed up, or if I give it a slight love tap on the cluster face. Not all the time, just randomly. My pcm is currently fkd at the moment tho so it's not gonna b doin any of that til i fix that issue. When ur pcm goes, it's not gonna start. Itll crank all day but wont start. Also, itll chime (6 times i think) n then the odometer will flash n then say "no bus". If u have a package w the overhead electronic console, that will display "CCD" and none of ur gauges will come on. U wont have a check engine light because the truck cant communicate w the pcm ("no bus" = no communication) to tell it to throw a code/illuminate the CEL.
hope that helps in some way
I get the “no bus” notification majority of the time I leave the key in accessory mode. I’ve also seen it a few times while the truck is running.

You might check the ground on battery, I had a problem once driving down road and voltage went wild, shut off engine and tried to restart, nothing. wiggled terminals on both (diesel) batteries and varoom, off we went.

Ok yall so it was NOT my PCM this time! I took the cable off that runs from the positive on the battery to the PDC. It's a short cable but there was enough corrosion on the PDC end of it to block communication. I didnt have another heavy duty ring terminal so I made 1 out of 1 of those pipe hangers for water pipes n conduit n stuff. I also took ground off the PCM bolt n made sure it was clean too. Started it up n ran it
