98 fuel pump issue

Default 98 fuel pump issue

My truck just shut down the other day no warning no nothing i checked the valve at the fuel rail and there was no pressure then checked the codes and got no codes come up any ideas

Thats what i am thinking just i seen a thread here were a guy put a new pump in and no luck was wondering if there was any other thing that may have happened like that or if the fuel pump in those years was a common failure

Basics first: Check the fuel pump relay, is there power on pin 30 coming in (fuse 3 blown) ? Does it klick when turning on the ignition (fuel pump prime) ? You can also just jump pin 30 and 87 in the relay socket and the fuel pump should run. Measure resistance between pin 87 and ground, if open it's likely the pump but could be wiring. To check the wiring you need to get to the fuel pump connector above the tank, sorry. But there's a good chance the pump needs replaced anyways.
