Default Wrong starter?

I am replacing the starter on my 1999 Ram 2500.
The new starter has a plug connection for the solenoid and the old starter has a hoop connector that uses a post.
Every starter I can find for sale online has the plug.
Does anyone make a plug I can splice on or do I have to find a starter wire harness with the correct ends?

See picture.

Thanks.

The starter was under warranty and has the same part number as the new starter the auto parts store gave me.

When I look up starters on rockauto all the starters pictured have the same push in connector.

The new starter is correct for a 99 but the starter on the motor is 98 and earlier. Maybe the engine was swapped or somebody put an older starter in and cut the plug off.

I've had this truck since new and it has not had the engine swapped.
The odd thing is 2 years ago I bought the starter at Advance Auto and just replaced it under warranty. The new starter has the plug and same part number as the old one with the post.

I wonder if I should just buy something like this off eBay or just try a starter from a 98 2500.

Get the starter for the earlier model year. Likely no difference other than the connector. Dodge is famous for doing stuff like that..

Ok... after further review..........

I have a 1998 starter on my 1999 truck, not sure how that happened but the wiring all looks stock.

Thanks for all the help!

That ring terminal is definitely not factory. Maybe the parts store has a matching pigtail, not worth going to the junkyard for IMHO. Or use an older style starter as already mentioned.
