Default New O2 sensor n nightmare ping is gone

'Ol blue/'96 Ram 1500-5.2, manual tranny, with 250K miles. I'd had the dreaded ping under any acceleration ever since I scrapped the guts of my catalytic conv. I tried EVERY fix, minus the death flash, suggested by the factory. I tried hi octane gas, decarbonize, etc, etc! NOTHING worked...gggrrrrr! I saw "hey you" state how bad or wrong O2 sensors could cause the problem recently. So I swapped out my upstream denso O2 for an NTK. BOOM BABY! It's like nite n day. The big takeaway was that the fuel trims almost swapped positions. The short terms went from leaning, to adding 3-6% n the long terms went from adding to leaning 5-7%. I'm no fuel trim guru but the ping is gone, she runs much better n that annoying OL-DRIVE when at nothing more than speed maintenance is history as well. Hope this info helps someone else.
