Hell I can find leather covers for under $100 but I can't find a damn heater pad for the passenger side

I keep wondering, too. I can't believe no one has tried it but apparently not.

If I could find time to tear into the seat on the regular cab I service I could make a determination, but finding the time is the issue.

If you want leather, I would suggest just getting new foam from an upholstery or foam store (there's one near me that makes anything you need) and fitting your own Katskin leather over it using your own seat base. (Doesn't Genos sell new foam bottoms?) You can remove the passenger side and do that first so you can still drive it, then put that on the driver side while that cushion is repaired. Again, the bottoms are interchangeable.

The regular cab discussion has nothing to do with leather. I don't want leather but seemingly other users do. I want to know if an extra cab cushion can be modified to work in a regular cab. I'm hoping a hole can just be poked for the seatback adjustment lever, but it very well may not be that simple.

I did a '98 2500 V10 today. Thanks to Ramman's post I decided to try one on the right side, too, even though Dorman specifically lists it as driver's side only.

Basically it fits the right side fine, but the rear reliefs for the seat belt and seat back pivot are slightly different, so you have to shove it into place just slightly harder (uhhmm....it's too easy....never mind)

If you really want to see the differences mentioned above go to Dorman's site (or maybe Amazon, I don't remember) and look closely at each side of the cushion.

For the first time ever I had to do a little metal trimming to get the left cushion installed. This was also the first power seat I've done and I think that was the difference? The required trimming was easy -- fear not!!

This was the existing cushion in said '98 V10. The PO had at some point installed decent seat bottom covers, but the outer bolsters were of course flattened. I attempted to capture the outer bolster sag here

This tab had to go on BOTH sides of FRONT of driver's seat. All four mounting points for drivers seat pivoted on a rivet. Perhaps this is a power seat thing??

Factory cushion: this is where the offending tabs indexed but the aftermarket Dorman cushion frame is constructed differently

Offending tab(s) removed with 3" M12 cutoff tool and driver cushion installed

Following up on my post above, this is the Dorman cushion installed on RH side of a '98 2500. I didn't have to do any mods aside from using slightly more effort to jam it into place. As such the fabric "buckles" a tiny bit more but it's extremely subtle.

I attempted to capture the ripple in the fabric but the camera doesn't really show it well. That said, it's minor in real life and not much of a concern unless you are on-the-spectrum level OCD
