I haven't seen a cam for under 300 bucks in quite some time, and that is JUST the cam.... then you need springs and such to make it work. (or, lower your power expectations.) If you REALLY want to get north of 50 plus HP, then you are looking at heads as well..... so, 2-3 grand for better-than-50 horsepower. Not inexpensive. But then, horsepower is rarely cheap.

Wanna spend less, and get more power? Pick up a used hemi, and adapt that to the truck.
I did rough estimates and I thought the rockers were cheaper lol. You can get into $4-500 just for headers. I spent $2100 for a cam, intake, springs, hardened pushrods, and a tune. Which according to the company may net me 35hp
