apply brake then shift
hey guys .. driving to my uncles today to burn boxes... something accured to me.... normall you gotta apply the break to be able to move the shifter to any position... mine doesnt do that anymore... i can just pull towards me then pull down with out touching the brake... assuming its a tranny related issue .. and trannys are like advanced rocket science to me... what causes this?... i used to have to push the brake in then shift when i first bought the truck now it doesnt do it.... any ideas thanks!
u know what, if i am sitting in an open area and i can do it, usuallly i use the brake, but i can quickly pop it from park to drive and not need the break :S wierd..
I have owned quiet a few GM vehicles and almost everyone I needed to put my foot on the brake. With that said, everyone also made it a point to advertise this in big letters near the PRNDL. On my 2000 ram 1500 I have never needed to apply the brakes nor does it say i need to, I dont think these do...do they?
I don't think any of the 2nd gen Rams have this feature. If anything it would've started in 01 or 02 with the 3rd gens.
I know our 01 Intrepid has it though. [>:]
GM uses it heavily, but it's easily disabled since it's an electrical system [8D]
