spare tire removal
So someone that i know, that isnt me, has a 94 ram. we need the spare tire out, and the tool of sorts that helps to lower it down, is gone. is there a way to get it out from the underside of the truck? can i some how dismantle the assembly? i dont care if the bracket ever works again. thanks.
im guessing thats amanda
if you get under it you should just be able to get it down by hand. its right behind the bumper. getting it back up will be a hole different story. I got mine down my hand that way. just make sure your twisting it in the right direction.
good luck.

i had the same problem... get a pair of visegrips... and hack them onto the pipe/tube that runs from the bumbper to the crank.. and crank it a few times to break it loose (itlll be snug) after its loose you can get a hand on there and twist it down by hand.. if you use the vise grips make sure you latch them on far enough down the pipe where you wont crimp or damage the pipe/tube that is close to the bumber where to tool that you dont have fits in there in the event you may find another one...
ALSO
you can get a decent size drill bit and drill a good hole throught the pipe/tube and stick some rod or metal in there for leverage and twist it a few times to get it loose and free... i ended up doing that as a back up and i keep that size rod (stock from hardware store) in the truck just incase... but not it dont matter b/c my crank broke (from other cuases not from using the wrong tools to get it to crank down.. from 4wheelin and 1 nasty rock) and now my duals run right underneeth it and i dont carry a spare.. any way... goodlucjk!
