PCM/"no bus" SOLVED!!!
2000 1500 single cab short bed sport 5.9L v8 2wd auto
When I got the whole "no bus", crank but no start, bs again, I was really hopin I didnt fry yet another PCM on old faithful. Luckily, I checked connections and on battery positive to PDC (the short red cable), I had sum corrosion on the PDC end. Not too bad considering I'm pretty sure the cables bout 22 yrs old (truck was technically manufactured in aug of 99). Well it was enough to prevent communication in the truck. Swapped out cable, but didnt have any heavy duty ring terminals so I fabricated one out of 1 of those pipe or conduit hanger things (a b*tch n a half to cut/bend, holy sh*t, but def not comin off). Turned key n saw all my gauges actually come on, old faithful started right up! Also double checked pcm bolt ground just in case. Hope this helps somebody that's about to drop way too much on an unnecessary PCM replacement! Also, dont 4get to have battery disconnected b4 messin w PCM ground/wiring.
