Default 97 2500 Rear Right Parking Brake Cable

Having a nightmarish time finding rear right park brake cable for my 97 2500. I never measured the original before throwing it away then ord aftermarket but they all seem to be too short. The Mopar #52009105 has been discontinued for many years n not available anymore with no dtls about length. My park brake always seemed t wk fine and was not rigged w an extension cable so kinda baffling to see xtension cable referred to in mnl. Anyone have one for sale or been through this or have any ideas? Thx

I had to change my parking brake cables a while back. The extension cable is sometimes used depending upon the length of the frame/truck and is only used on the main cable coming from the parking brake pedal. I went with aftermarket parking brake cables that went to each rear wheel, in addition to the extension cable. Once you look at the lengths available online (Advance Auto, O'Reillys, etc.), you can get under your truck to take a measurement to determine which cable will fit your needs. The equalizer/adjuster was and likely is still available thru the dealer. I had to go through this exercise when I swapped from a drum brake Dana 60 rear to a disc brake Dana 60 rear from a later model 2nd gen truck.

Thanx a lot for the easy solution. It crossed my mind but fig the orig cbl had to be exact length but nvr considered the amount of adjustment possible w the tensioner assembly. Alrdy have a new tensioner on and by going to the standard cab version, 11" shorter and adding the 15" extender cbl, I'lI will gain the nec 4+- inches st I can then adjust it to perfection. Thanx again

Great. Sounds very similar to what I went through getting my parking brake working. Glad to help.
