97 stock radio

Default 97 stock radio

I have 2) 97's both w/ odd reception on am (political junkie) sometimes lots of static, sometimes no reception driving & sometimes none just setting still engine off. Any help?? Intermittent. No, I'm not going to put in a doodah radio!!

If they both do the same thing, and you live in the NW woods and marsh, is it really the radios?

I get bad reception just 30 miles from Seattle from all the huge trees.

You could try a new cable for the antenna on one of them. The stock radios are crappy though. You can get a fairly plain Pioneer for less than $100.

Only problem with the stock radios is the wattage output. Replacement radios are terrible, cheap, chinese crap.

I'm no help as I don't know how radios operate. But I remember my Dad's 82 Chevy C10 that had the AM antennae in the windshield. Always thought that was cool.
