There is a procedure in the service manual for adjusting the steering box. Follow that, and it will be as good as it's gonna get.

You mean factory service manual ? I'm gonna have to find a way to order one

Nothing rebuilt.
There are still brand new boxes being made. I am going that route soon.

You can obtain the factory service manual for your year truck here (the factory parts manual is also available under this category, too) - https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...e-manuals.html

I never had death wobble in my truck, Track bar I did a few years ago and this truck isn't a daily driver. I did bilstein shocks a few months ago.
I bought my truck used a number of years ago and it needed a front end rebuild to cure the "death wobble" issue I experienced a couple of times driving down the highway. To better understand "death wobble" just google "dodge ram death wobble" to find videos of it. I replaced all of the ball joints, tie rod ends, wheel/hub bearings, sway bar bushings and links, U-joints in the front axles, front shocks and the upgraded 3rd gen style track bar and conversion bracket. The front end rebuild had the greatest effect on the handling of the truck. I later replaced the steering box to eliminate sloppy steering and fluid leaks.

I'm aware of what the death wobble is on these trucks , 2 years ago I replaced the whole front end aswell after I did my level and alignment . I'm interested in this 3rd gen track bar swap

You can read about the 3rd gen style adjustable track bar upgrade setup I use here - http://www.solidsteel.biz/trackbars.htm

Still same situation. I have not replaced the Borgeson box yet. It’s still clicking like that. You can hear it in the cab, and feel it in the steering wheel. It clicks going either way of center, just a few degrees off center in either direction. Like many others, I didn’t know what brand of box is best for these trucks. I thought I bought the best, but obviously not.
