I bought a 1996 Dodge ram 1500 5.9 2 will drive. It needed a transmission so that has been changed . Well changing it the crank Shaft positioning sensor was damaged And replaced also also due to the battery Not being disconnected the starter was accidentally Arched on the frame. Before all this the truck would start And run. Now the truck starts on cold start but then as soon as I touch the gas pedal you can hear it sucking air and it dies then the truck will not start again

 

Do you have a scanner? Have you checked the computer for any existing codes?

 

Yes I have a scanner but the check engine light isnt on but its giving me flash codes 12 and 11 I believe.

 

11 is a cam sensor code, Check if you have spark.

 

Yes there is spark. It starts when it's cold and idles rough when I touch the peddle it sucks air and dies.
