Default Nv3500 downshifting hard

I have a 94 ram 1500 4x4 with the nv3500. It just started shifting hard and making a grinding / rattling noise but it goes away when I push in the clutch. It shifts up fine but it takes all I can do to make it down shift. It full of fluid and just did new ujoints and I did a new POS track rear 6 mouths. Does anyone know if it needs rebuild or what's wrong with it?

When you push clutch goes away….that would lead me to pressure plate damage or throw out bearing, and hard to shift? That would make me think syncro is bad…..hard to diag without actually driving it….but in basic terms sounds like you need a clutch

I Will try that. I don't get it tho trucks been sitting for 1 mouth I drove it to pick my daughter up for school and half way back It wouldn't down shift in 2nd and 1st. Now it won't downshift in 1-3 with out me reving the engine a Lil while I hold the clutch and I still have to force it in gear

Yeah, that sounds like the clutch isn't completely disengaging. If the syncros work fine up they should work fine down.
