Coolant leaking in the center of the water pump

Default Coolant leaking in the center of the water pump

Unknown if it can leak their in the center of the water pump

There should be a weep hole under the center of the water pump just behind the pulley. A coolant leak there indicates a leaky internal water pump seal, in addition to the water pump's bearing possibly being worn. It's an indication to replace the water pump. Also, a good time to replace the timing chain and gears with a good double roller set, if the chain and gears haven't been replaced before.

Grab ahold of fan and see how much slop there is….working in a shop ive seen quite a few leak right at the pulley cuz they’re so far gone…..but on our trucks check the side metal tube that going into side of water pump, they like to rust, check thermostat housing cuz they also like to rust, and check the small coolant hose on top of water pump that feeds into intake as they like to leak as well
