Out of ideas: electrical issues
The splice location is not shown in the FSM but it says it is in the battery positive wiring. The splice merely connects two different wire colors/sizes together. The wire only powers the hazard lights via fuse C in the PDC.
Ok so for Fuse C, there’s supposed to be a black wire coming off of positive terminal that splices into a pink wire which goes to fuse C in the Pdc. From there the power goes to the black with violet line which goes to fuse block. Can someone confirm on there truck that this is the case? The pink wire that goes to my Pdc I traced it and it goes to PCM… the guy who owned the truck before me jacked the wiring all up so I’m going and trying to get it back to normal. So could I possible hook a wire to positive terminal, cut the pink wire and splice it to the black wire coming off battery? At this point I would take it to a mechanic but I don’t want to drive it without getting some type of lights working.
My truck is a 2001 so I can't confirm the wiring but you read the diagram correctly. Keep in mind there are only so many wire colors so there a multiple connections using a pink wire. Indeed a quick look at the PCM connections shows multiple pink wires right there. The wiring in question is only for the hazard lights (they keep the hazards separate so they work even if the big power fuses blow) so see if there is power at the hazard relay pin 4 (black/violet wire). In any case that wire alone can not be the cause for the issues with lighting so don't waste too much time there.
Headlights, blinkers, hazards, brake lights all run through the multifunction switch on the column so my suspicion would be an issue with the wiring to the switch (somewhat common problem with tilt steering columns) or maybe the switch itself although it's unlikely all the different functions fail at the same time. I'd remove the column cover and go hunting for voltage there.
