Default 99 Ram 2500 Wire attached to Hood

So attached to my hood is a wire that goes to the Ambient Pannel in the truck for the temperature and what not. It runs from the loop that catches the hood latch. To the driver corner of the hood. Where it plugs into the harness that runs to the inside of the truck. My question is, what does the second plug on that end of the wire go to?
I was thinking maybe an optional hood light. But wouldn't that be at the other end? Any suggestions are appreciated.

My truck has the hood light on the driver's side under the hood, but I don't have the temperature sensor.

I bet that's what it's for then. I'll have to get one. Going out tomorrow to diagnose why my low beams are suddenly not working 🤷 thanks for your response. And quick too lol
