On ebay I've previously found sellers who sell 2-packs of crush sleeves (for Jeep apps) for incredibly cheap vs buying just one. Actual Spicer parts.

Crush sleeves are one of those things where if you have two, you won't need the second one. If you only have one, you'll wish you had a spare when you overshoot preload

I learned that the hard way. On another note, why can't the parts stores list the right u joint straps.

U-joint straps are a great mystery. I just had that exact problem on a 14b under a square body. The straps that we actually needed were not listed ANYWHERE as fitting the application

Going through the same thing with a Dana 44 and 9.25
