Default 1994 Dodge Ram 1500 transmission?

I’m not sure what happened, I’m sure it’s major.
the other day I was driving along and my truck just started coasting.. it was as if it went to the next gear and went to neutral instead. I had to get towed home.
On occasion I can get it to go to reverse or maybe drive. My fluid is darkish red I checked it. I didn’t hear any weird sounds when it happened.

oh and when I go to neutral I do hear a low almost buzz sound

any ideas?

It looked to be just a tad bit low.

Fill it with fluid and try it again. If the fluid gets really low, strange things happen.

My fluid is darkish red I checked it.
Dark fluid could be it's heating up of has contamination in it. Drop the pan replace the filter then fill it up and see what you have. If you have a gauge you can check if it is pumping fluid. Test is on the last page...
