Hello, I have come here seeking help as I haven’t been able to find an exact answer to my problem anywhere else. I bought a 98 5.9 12 valve with the 47re transmission and started driving it home got about an hour in and the transmission seemed to be running hot only because I could smell what seemed to be transmission fluid and the transmission started slipping when during city driving red lights and such slowing down and speeding back up. Eventually it got to the point where I could no longer accelerate and I shut it off and started it again and it randomly would catch in drive and a few miles down the road would slip out of drive again. Now it doesn’t go into drive or reverse. Please help!!!

Did you check the fluid level? What does it look like red or brown?
