Default Re-use shocks with leveling kit?

Putting a 2 - 2.5 inch leveling kit in my truck. The kits offer shocks or no shocks. Wondering if I could just reuse the stock shocks or would they be too far extended?

Really depends on the shocks. If they aren't too old and worn out along with having enough travel, you should be fine.

Back in the day a 2" lift could get away with stock shocks although many owners complained of clunking. Anything 2.5" or higher needs longer shocks. When I put my 3" lift on, I needed longer shocks up front but the backs were stock length. Don't skimp on parts. I would forget the pucks and get new springs and shocks designed for it.

I would go with new springs over the spring spacers if I had to redo. I have 2.5 inch steel spacers. The stock shocks length wise are good for pavement pounding and dirt roads. I kept my stock shocks for now but I do have new ones waiting to go on. The stock ones are shot, 22 years and 91K. I have 35's with the 2 1/2 spacers and they rub the plastic liners turning.
