Alarm system keeps activating
2001 Ram Sport.
Occasionally when I unlocked and opened my drivers door, the alarm would activate. I would just close the door, lock, then unlock and everything would be fine.
Recently I took the truck in for inspection and left it locked overnight. The mechanic called me the next morning and said the alarm went off when he unlocked it and the truck wont start.
I told him about the lock/unlock thing but he said it didnt work, so I went over.
Basically, the alarm keeps activating any time I open the door. It resets itself after about three minutes. I tried all of the "key dances" that I read about, but nothing works. I disconnected the negative terminal of the battery for thirty minutes, but that didnt help.
I doubt if any type of reset procedure will work since the alarm actually resets on its own after three minutes. Am I wrong in thinking this?
Before I took the truck over for inspection, I had it at a body shop where they replaced the doors (mine were badly rusted) with nice junkyard doors, and replaced the lock cylinders with my lock cylinders so that my key would work. They never locked the truck at the body shop, so me locking it after dropping it off at the mechanics would be the first time it was locked with the replacement doors.
Any suggestions as to what may be going on and/or what to look for? Is there some type of security switch in the door that may be bad or needs to be recalibrated some how? I do have the old drivers door because I wanted to keep it in case I needed glass or other parts in the future. The truck cranks but will not start. I do have an original key, but no FOB, if that makes any difference. I've been driving the truck for over a year.

I would say bring it back to the bodyshop except how did you get it out of there if it wont start.
