yukon gears 4.11 rear/front
How good are yukon gears. I'm puttting 4.11/4.10 front and rear. shop says they can't line them up in rear and have tried 3 times. call randys ring and pinion and they claim that they are the best after market? and are easy to install
What rear end do you have?
Yukon is a very good quality gear, but if you have the Chrysler 9.25 rear, you can not get a Yukon gear. The only gear that is available for the Chysler 9.25 (according to Randys Ring and Pinion) is what they call a value gear (made by either Motive or Sierra depending on the reseller). They are not bad, but not as good of quality as Yukon in my opinion.
Sounds like maybe the shop has the wrong gear though. Did you recheck the part numbers?
I bought my gears from Randy's, and here are the part numbers I used in case your interested:
Front - YG D44-411T D44 4.09 THICK
Rear - ZG C9.25-411 9.25" CHY 4.10 R&P
You will notice that my gears are 4.09 in ther front, and 4.10 in the rear. This is ok because as long as the gears are within 2% of each other, they are fine. Anything over that, and say bye bye to your transfer case.

Well, I new I was paying for one Yukon and one Motive. Did someone tell you you were getting both Yukon?
Have your mechanic verify that the part he has in hand is what you think you ordered. Maybe he received the wrong part.
Otherwise, how experienced is this mechanic?
