Thanks for the video and every other time I changed a belt it went just like that...... But this time it didn't and I haven't gotten the faintest clue of what I'm doing wrong, or maybe something else. It's an easy 5 minutes job and I shouldn't need a pry bar to get the belt on the pulley either but i think I do??

Sounds like you may have the wrong length belt or aren't routing it correctly.

The belt number is also often the belt length. A/C equipped vehicles use a longer belt. This was about the time A/C was getting to be on all vehicles, but I think it was still possible to get non-a/c vehicles. If you're putting a non-a/c belt on an a/c engine, you'll have issues. Like others have said, go by the routing map on the radiator support or under side of the hood.
