Default Oil leak after engine replacement

I have a 1998 Ram 1500 RWD. I've had the manual transmission and then the 5.2 engine replaced within the last year. Both replacements are re-manufactured. Following the engine replacement, I've taken it back to the shop twice because of an oil leak between the oil pan and the transmission. Both times they've replaced the rear main seal and at least the last time, they replaced the oil pan gasket also. It's leaking oil again. The longest I've driven the truck between getting it back and the oil leak appearing was a week. Not only does the truck leave small oil puddles but the oil gets on the exhaust pipe and I get to smell burning oil when I stop. What is causing this recurring problem? My neighbor and I have our ideas, but I was wanting to get confirmation or an alternative cause. Thanks for any input.

You can try using some ATP AT-205 re-seal. This video discusses how to use it for a rear main seal -

Both replacements are re-manufactured.
Who rebuilt it and what quality parts were used is most likely the issue. Did the mechanic verify it was the rear main or does it have other leaks?

The engine came from Powertrain Products. It does have a warranty. The shop narrowed the leak to the rear main seal or the oil pan gasket. My neighbor and I suspect there is a problem with the crankshaft on the engine tearing up the rear main seal.

I don't know if it is related, but there is an intermittent vibration that occurs sometimes at higher speed, that feels like it is coming from the power train. I don't notice it all the time. I usually notice it when I'm going uphill or accelerating around 50 mph and higher.

Since the engine is under warranty, I'd take it back to them to get the engine replaced. A rear main seal leak that can't be fixed should be unacceptable for a re-manufactured engine.

Thanks. I will definitely take it back. I believe they were trying the easier option twice. But I would say the easier option has been ruled out.
