Question 2001 Ram 2500 4x4 - fixing leaking brake line

Hi, I have a 2001 Ram 2500 4x4 with the 8 foot bed. I have a brake line leak at the clamp area by the driver's front wheel well as shown by the picture. In trying to trace this line out, it looks like it goes across to the passenger side and down the rail under the bed towards the back.

Is it worth trying to patch in a new section of brake line, or is it best to go get the entire brake line section and replace all of that?

In my humble opinion, it's best to replace the entire line, especially if you plan to keep the truck for awhile. The rear brake line running along the frame around the gas tank is famous for rusting out and leaking at the worst times. Since I personally have an aversion to not having good brakes on a 3/4 ton truck and know that these trucks are famous for rusty and worn brake lines given the age of the truck, I went ahead and replaced all of the metal brake lines on my truck with pre-bent stainless steel brake lines. They can be procured from several sources (classictube.con, finelines.com, etc.) or you can pickup a roll of steel brake line, a double flaring tool and bend them yourself.

By the rust i'm seeing i'm surprised your rear line hasn't burst yet. I would get ALL new lines.

Thanks - and good advice on getting new brake lines. I've never been a fan of bailing wire and duct taping critical systems together.
