Hello all,

I would like to hear from people who have had their manual transmissions pop gears out, whether light duty or heavy duty.
1) Have you had several gears do this?
2) What turned out to be the issue?
3) How do you drive? (Tow, DD, aggresive?)
4) Is this a common issue for our trucks? Have you seen others have the same problem?

As for me, I've had both 5th and 4th gears pop out under load, both times it was the engagement teeth on the gear where the shift collar would engage. In my experience once it pops out once. It only gets progressively worse and easier for it to pop out. But I got my truck at 150k miles and the trans seems to have been replaced before so who knows what it's been through.
