01 5.2 crank no start

01 5.2 crank no start
truck is a 2001 ram 1500 5.2 4x4 5 speed
about a month ago I was driving normally and the truck just puttered out, it restarted for probably 30 seconds after sitting for a second and a lot of cranking enough for me to get it off the road.
it won't start now and will only crank, i checked fuel pressure and it was good, i checked spark and its also good, asd relay was also checked and is functioning.
if i spray ether into it, it acts like it wants to fire but just won't.
could there be a sensor keeping it from running?

Would definitely check for codes, a check engine light would strongly indicate whether or not is could have codes stores. There's a magnetic pickup coil in the distributor for spark/injector timing.
