Is it lacking fuel? How did it sound when it died, just shut off or sputter?

turn the key to the on position (not start) and listen for the fuel pump. you should hear it run for about 2 seconds, then turn off. make sure you have 49 psi of fuel pressure at the fuel rail.

How do you check that?

Samething happened to me on Saturday just up and died. Turned over but would not start. I knew what it was right away. The coil was dead. Changed the coil and it fired right up. Get yourself a coil and put it in. Just spray the screws down real good because its a pain in the ****, getting a drill in there to drill out the bottom screw. Yes I found out the hard way.

there should be a schrader valve on the fuel rail. if there isnt then you'll need an adapter to hook up the fuel pressure guage.

to the original poster... you may have a problem with your ASD relay. take a look at that.

CHECK YOUR CAT CONVERTER!!!

Take out the upstream O2 sensor, that little hole lets out enough gas if its actually clogged.

Have worked on a few Rams with bad/clogged cats, they all acted diffrently. Cranking but not starting was one of them!

swap your relays around to check those, also check the fuse related to the fuel and asd relays. usually simple thing...
