Default Misfires on Bank 1 or 2 Solution

I just wanted to post my solution to a problem I had been facing with misfires on Bank 1 (Cylinder 1,3,5). For reference, I have a 1999 dodge ram 1500 v6, but my solution will help with the v8 model as well. The truck started out having misfires on cylinders 3 and 5, but later 1 also misfired. Once I got to the point where it was all Bank 1, the truck would shut off about 20 minutes into a drive almost every single time. After this I would just have to sit and wait about 1-5 minutes, and it would start back up again. I replaced sparkplugs, wires, rotor, and coil all to no avail. Finally, as a last-ditch effort I bought a new crankshaft position sensor from amazon for $20. Once it was installed it got rid of all the misfire codes and no longer stopped during a drive. I figured since there were only posts about people saying maybe it could be this and that, I would document MY solution to this problem for others to see. I hope this helps you if you are having this issue! also the v6 and v8 crankshaft position sensor are the same!

This is typical heat soak.
