Default Horns

My truck is a good old truck and does anything I ask of it. Towing, working in the woods, what ever. In traffic though, the factory horn is, well, anemic. The previous owner had added a set of air horns but the switch was nearly under the dash and not readily to hand. I've added these puppies and mounted them where they are aimed straight ahead through the grill.

I'm making a switch mount next to the drivers seat so the horn switch along with the auxiliary light controls are at hand. I'm waiting for the next person with their nose in their phone texting drives in front of me. I believe the horns are rated at 120 decibels.

The factory horn stays factory. When I was in school, I used to have two different horns under the rear of my car. Originally, one was there for if I was backing up. Later, I would honk the horn in back and if someone would complain, I could honk the factory horn. I had one jerk behind me going into a concert and got him in dutch with the police. Blowing the horn and as they walked up to my car, it was behind me. I was allowed to go in while they talked to him.

I've thought about train horns but my truck is used for work in the woods and they would take up too much room and would get ripped off underneath on some of the granite outcrops I deal with. That short bed, extended cab configuration is almost perfect for getting in and out.
