Default Code Readers

Ok has anyone gone out and bought a code reader. Seam to be a bit much don't ya think. Considering that you can go to your local AZone store and they do it for free. I priced some at PBoys can get them for around 300. I have the luxury of Snap-on, for 500 I can get one from them and of course it comes with the lifetime guarantee and I don't have to drop a lot of money at one time. I guess what I am getting at is would it be worth the money to get one?

The Inova 3100 code reader makes it easy to quickly retrieve stored diagnostic information from your vehicleýs computer memory.

Easy to use and view with no complex, multiple screens; everything is displayed on a single large screen
Monitor status indicates if all monitors have completed testing and if the vehicle is ready for emissions testing
Monitor icons indicate which monitors are supported by the vehicle being tested and if the related monitor has its diagnostic tests
Check engine light icon verifies which code, if any, commanded this light to go on
DTC (diagnostic trouble code) sequence identifies the causes of the check engine light coming on
Pending icon warns of potential problems; tools icon show tool's current testing state
Works on all 1996 and newer cars, trucks, and SUVs that are OBDII compliant
ERASE button clears monitors and resets "CHECK ENGINE" light
Model No. 3100
ASE-certified

PRICE: 149 cdn

i know it may be cheap, but i bought one off ebay. at least it will give me an idea and let me reset my check engine light. reason why i bought this one for my truck is b/c i have one for my M3 and that one is a life saver since i can also reset the maintenance light when it comes on.
