How do I get lower airbox rubber grommet off to put into new box
So I finally found a brand new mopar lower airbox replace my busted tab one, cleaned my throttle body all ready to tighten things up oh yay and I'll be darned I cannot get the old rubber grommet off. New box didn't come with, anybody know how to get old off? I tried various hex keys inside while twisting the top nipple pushing hard down, nothing budges. I was ready to go gorilla but decided against, maybe this is a locking grommet and I need to buy a new one? Just to be clear, this isn't some squishy rubber grommet you can simply push through the hole in bottom box, it has a harder plastic shoulder (wider than the hole) with a rubber padded bushing. Ugh. 1999 Dodge Ram Sport 4X4 Magnum

What motor? May try spraying some silicone between the grommet and air cleaner, Then use a small screwdriver to pry it out. https://www.moparpartsgiant.com/part...agram=00i90491

303 soak and hard grommet softened n popped fine. For anyone switching out lower airbox for new, get your old latches off and reuse. The aftermarket I bought didn't fit tho sold as compatible for my gen ll. Carid had two more mopar lower boxes in stock for anyone whose tabs have busted off. New box is super tight
