Aftermarket is your only option, I wasn't aware of factory keyless prior to the 2000 model year?

Aftermarket will provide you with a better product anyway, OEM systems are a joke, at least prior to around 2012-13 era with Uconnect option. Cell phone control gave them a little boost, OEM ranged suck. You can also get one with remote start if you so desired.

I added keyless & remote start on my 96. I went with https://www.crimestopper.com/en/security-systems. They stand behind their products & has great tech support. But if you are not comfortable with wiring, you might get a local installer.

I had a bull dog i think it was on my 96 15 years ago, it could be so many are using the can systems and becoming more plug n play with less wire splicing. You might be best to talk to a shop that can direct you to the right one.
