I'm not sure i follow your fault code, if its still present?
I just worked on a 46RE the guy installed reman trans and had no over drive, come to find the pin got bent over in the trans connector. I know the 46RH had significantly less wiring, so maybe this is not possible, just an idea.
You could do a pressure test, That will tell you if you have pressure going to the od. If that's the case then something in the od is not right.
Thanks for the suggestion and the diagram. I just finished doing a pressure test on the OD, and it's only showing ~30psi once I get it up to speed. If I hit the O/D OFF button, pressure drops to 0, so I know the solenoid is working.
Crazy thing though, at one point the pressure crept up to about 40, and then it shifted into OD! I only got it to do that a couple times, then it went back to sticking at 30.
So correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like I have a pressure issue. Are there any simple things that could cause it, or are we looking at a full-on rebuild? I get the gist of automatic transmissions, but I have very little experience diagnosing the internals.

At 40 it's still to low, I would be curious to see what pressure you have on the rear servo. Oil pressure form the pump needs to supply the pressure for all gears. Od is the last so if its low to begin with it will get lower as it's used. If you have good pressure otherwise it's in the od circuit. Are you sure the od solenoid was installed correctly? It could be leaking there.
Ok, I did a pressure test on the rear servo. With the transmission in R, the pressure was between 150-160. It was a little unstable (needle was vibrating), but it stayed right in that range, until I shifted out of R, then it dropped to 0.
I went ahead and dropped the pan, just to see if I could see anything obvious. Pulled the solenoid, looks fine, but how do I know if it's leaking? There's no O-ring on it, just the flat gasket where the assembly meets the valve body. Same with the OD accumulator. I don't see anything wrong with it, but how do I know? I really want to fix this thing, but I'm approaching the end of my expertise.
