I am looking to getting a remanufactured transmission or having mine rebuilt but where I am it looks like rebuilding would be more expensive. I’ve seen some from Reman and Jegs and wanted to know told they were trustworthy places and if not where a good place to get a 46RE is. My max budget is about 2.5k as I may look at some additions to the transmission to make it better and maximize longevity. Thanks in advance.

 

I went through the 46RE rebuild process a few years ago. Luckily, I found a local rebuilder that took time out to rebuild my 46RE to be stronger and more reliable. Not sure what part of the country you're in, but you may want to speak with the folks at https://www.wittrans.com/ - they sell automatic transmission parts and have local outlets all over.
