Default No start

Had a couple of stalling issues about a month ago. Checked the in tank fuel pump and had low pressure readings (8psi). Changed the pump and ran fine with 15 psi at idle, for about a week. Then a delayed startup one day and then ran Started up fine yesterday then as I was getting some last minute things it stalled. Now it's stuck in the driveway with a no start situation. I'm wondering if the VP 44 is toast. Doing some diagnostic checks tomorrow and trying to chase this gremlin. It's a 1998.5 24 valve,2wd.

Though not good, 8psi is not as bad as zero. Spec is 10 engine running, right out of the service manual, we've found over the years that 15 is much better for the longevity. Have you cracked a couple lines to see if they're spraying fuel? Where are you testing fuel pressure. Do you have any tuners or downloaders installed? Does the tach move while cranking? Have you tried a couple conservative shots of start aid? Do you have any fault codes? Unfortunately 98 was not able to do the key trick yet, I'm not sure if the flash code option was still available for OBD2

I have a pressure gauge at the filter housing,on the filtered side. Seems fine when I first turn the key. I'll check the other options tomorrow. Right now I'm just charging the batts. No tuners, just a regular 2wd automatic.

Dodge pulled some interesting things through the years of the VP44 motor, I can't remember if the 98 used cam position for starting or not. That would be also something to check.
